High-Capacity Sterile HVAC Upgrade
Medxon was commissioned to upgrade the existing ventilation and air conditioning infrastructure for Fortis Hospital's major operating theater cluster.
The Engineering Challenge
The facility required a modernization of its aging HVAC systems without disrupting active clinical wards. The new system needed to integrate with the existing building structure while providing modern variable refrigerant flows and advanced filtration modules.
Medxon's Executed Solution
- Phased Installation Protocol: Conducted mechanical upgrades in phases during planned maintenance windows, ensuring zero downtime for nearby clinical wings.
- Advanced Air Handling Units: Replaced old systems with high-efficiency double-skin air handling units featuring integrated heat recovery wheels.
- Sterile Filtration Integration: Fitted terminal HEPA housings and pressure monitoring stations to secure constant air quality parameters.
Project Outcomes
The upgraded HVAC network delivered a 30% increase in energy efficiency while lowering the particulate count in the operating rooms below ISO Class 7 limits, fully satisfying modern healthcare standards.
