Pediatric and Neonatal Cleanroom Air Management
Medxon designed and deployed sterile ventilation environments for the critical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and pediatric ward at Mukta Neon Hospital.
The Engineering Challenge
Neonates are exceptionally vulnerable to airborne pathogens and dust particles. The ventilation system had to deliver ultra-clean air constantly, keep noise levels below 45 dB to protect resting infants, and maintain highly stable temperature zones without draft-inducing high-velocity air streams.
Medxon's Executed Solution
- Ultra-Quiet Cleanroom AHUs: Configured custom air handling units with sound-attenuating baffles and low-noise plug fans to run quietly during overnight hours.
- Terminal Filtration Layout: Integrated ceiling-mounted terminal HEPA filters distributing air gently through micro-perforated diffuser screens.
- Micro-Climate Controllers: Installed independent temperature and humidity sensors in isolation cabins, allowing nursing staff to fine-tune environmental settings for incubator zones.
Project Outcomes
The cleanroom environments achieved ISO Class 8 cleanliness standards with excellent acoustics. Mukta Neon Hospital successfully launched its advanced NICU wing, ensuring clean air delivery for neonatal care.
