Medxon Technologies was selected as the turnkey HVAC and modular construction partner to engineer the new multi-theater Modular Operation Theatre (MOT) suite at RK Hexa Hospital in Santacruz.
The Engineering Challenge
The hospital requested a sterile surgical environment conforming strictly to NABH guidelines. The engineering team needed to maintain positive pressure cascade control, high-frequency air changes, and precise temperature-humidity profiles to ensure total safety during orthopedic and general surgical procedures.
Medxon's Executed Solution
- Laminar Airflow Ceiling: Installed custom-fabricated stainless steel laminar flow ceilings with terminal HEPA filtration (H14 class) to deliver sterile air over the surgical field.
- Hermetic Wall Panels: Deployed high-durability anti-bacterial PUF sandwich wall panels with flush-mounted view panels and hermetically sealing sliding doors.
- Intelligent Air Handling: Integrated dedicated double-skin AHUs with variable speed drives and logic control boards to maintain constant air volume and positive pressure (+15 Pa).
Project Outcomes
The operation theatre was certified for clinical use within the specified timeframe. The validation tests recorded zero particulate leaks, giving RK Hexa Hospital a fully compliant, high-performance surgical suite.
