Medxon Technologies designed and executed an advanced ophthalmic Modular Operation Theatre featuring high-efficiency laminar airflow system at Sai Netra Hospital.
The Engineering Challenge
Ophthalmic surgeries require extremely stable air velocity and zero particulate count in the sterile zone to minimize any risk of intraocular infection. The airflow system needed to be extremely quiet yet keep the surgical field entirely sterile.
Medxon's Executed Solution
- Laminar Airflow Ceiling: Installed custom terminal HEPA laminar flow diffusers directly above the surgical table to supply downward sterile air.
- Hermetically Sealed Doors: Integrated automatic sliding cleanroom doors to isolate the operating room and maintain a stable pressure barrier.
- Surgeon Control Panel: Installed a modern touch-screen control panel to allow simple digital adjustment of temperature, humidity, and lighting.
Project Outcomes
The ophthalmic OT successfully met all clinical cleanliness standards (ISO Class 5 for the sterile zone), providing Sai Netra Hospital with a state-of-the-art facility for precision eye surgery.
